The ’64 Chevy Chevelle SS made its Hot Wheels debut in the 2012 New Models series, making V5560 part of the casting's original first-year lineup.
Two primary colors were released for 2012. The initial V5290 version was Metalflake Red, followed by this V5560 Metalflake Steel Blue second-color variation.
An interesting detail behind this particular color is that collector documentation states the metallic blue finish was selected for Bryan Hladik, who owned a real 1964 Chevelle in this color.
Both debut-year versions carry Collector #002 and are #2/247 overall and #2/50 in the New Models series.
