🏁 Collector's Notes
The Brooklin BRK23 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria has considerably more collector history than an ordinary 1:43 diecast.
Brooklin Models introduced the standard BRK23 edition in 1987, producing it in Spearmint Green with a contrasting roof, light beige interior and classic whitewall tires. The model remained in Brooklin's catalog until it was discontinued in January 1996.
An interesting variation exists among early BRK23 examples. Brooklin reports that the first production models mistakenly carried orange “TEXAS BRK22” license plates. During production, these were corrected to the intended “FLORIDA BRK23” plates.
This creates an additional identification point for collectors: check the license plates on your model. An example retaining the earlier incorrect BRK22 Texas plates represents an identifiable early-production variation.
Brooklin also documented variations in the shade of Spearmint Green and later changes to interior and license-plate colors.
With production ending approximately three decades ago, a mint BRK23 retaining its original Brooklin box is an appealing example for collectors of traditional hand-built British white-metal models and classic 1950s American automobiles.
