The 1995 Brickyard 400, held on August 5, 1995, was the highly anticipated second running of NASCAR at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The race is best remembered for a grueling four-hour rain delay caused by the remnants of Hurricane Erin, which threatened to wash out the entire weekend. Because of the delays, it became one of the last major NASCAR races not to be broadcast completely live on television.

Once the weather cleared in the late afternoon, the race turned into a blistering, high-speed affair slowed by only one caution flag. Dale Earnhardt took the checkered flag in his famous No. 3 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet, securing a legendary victory over his rival Rusty Wallace by less than half a second. Defending inaugural race winner Jeff Gordon had started on the pole but finished sixth, while Bill Elliott led the most laps of the evening.
