2024 Hot Wheels '89 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG Red HW Modified 8/10 #82/250
The ’89 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG is still a relatively young Hot Wheels casting, having made its debut in 2023 in the HW Turbo series. It was designed by Sonny Fisher.
For 2024, the 560 SEC AMG returned as #82/250 and #8/10 in HW Modified. The standard HTB70 version features a red body, detailed lighting and trim, AMG badging, smoke-tinted windows and Chrome Lip RSW wheels.
Collectors should also know that Mattel selected the ’89 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG for a 2024 Super Treasure Hunt. That highly desirable HTF33 variation uses Spectraflame Red paint, Real Rider wheels and a TH marking on the trunk.
The standard HTB70 offered here should not be confused with that Super Treasure Hunt, but having an STH counterpart adds another collecting angle for enthusiasts who like displaying the regular and premium variations together.
The real AMG-modified 560 SEC is itself exceptionally interesting. Period AMG modifications transformed Mercedes' luxury coupe into a formidable widebody performance car, and surviving examples have become highly desirable among collectors.
For Hot Wheels collectors, the combination of Mercedes-Benz + AMG + widebody styling + an early casting release gives this model stronger enthusiast appeal than the typical mainline.
