2022 Hot Wheels #231 HW Rescue 9/10 WATER BOMBER Blue / White
Take to the skies with the 2022 Hot Wheels Water Bomber from the HW Rescue series.
Designed as a fictional aerial firefighting aircraft, the Water Bomber represents the powerful planes used to support firefighters battling wildfires from the air. This 2022 release features a Blue body with White wings, red accents and bold “FIRE SUPPORT” and #23 graphics along the sides.
The Water Bomber is #231/250 in the 2022 Hot Wheels Mainline and 9/10 in HW Rescue. This Blue/White version carries Mattel toy number HCT87.
 
⭐ Collector's Note
The Water Bomber has a nice bit of Hot Wheels history because it was still a very young casting when this 2022 version was released.
Designed by Tyler Charest, the Water Bomber originally debuted in 2021 in the HW Rescue series as a New Model. The casting depicts a fictional twin-engine aerial firefighting aircraft designed to deliver water onto wildfires.
The original 2021 releases were yellow and white, both carrying “RESCUE 68” graphics. For 2022, Hot Wheels substantially changed its appearance to the blue/red/white “FIRE SUPPORT #23” livery you have.
That makes your HCT87 the second-year Water Bomber casting, and it was the only Water Bomber included in the 2022 mainline.
There's also an interesting naming change collectors may appreciate: beginning around 2023, Hot Wheels started referring to the casting as “HW Water Bomber.” The 2022 card still uses the original Water Bomber name.
