2022 Hot Wheels #152 Retro Racers Shelby Cobra 427 S/C
This model is also known as Shelby Cobra 427 S/C for the same casting. It is based on Carroll Shelby's modified version of the British AC Ace sports car, itself a Pre-WWII design by BMW. The Hot Wheels casting is designed by Larry Wood. It is powered by a Ford V8 engine and constructed of ultra lightweight aluminum, this American sports car icon was made to push American racing to a new level!
The casting was retooled in 2020, becoming a post-post design and losing the opening hood.

Finished in dark/candy blue, this officially licensed Shelby features vintage racing-inspired white, yellow and red graphics, along with Hot Wheels, Goodyear and HWRT markings. The white interior and black 5-spoke wheels with chrome/red rim accents give this version a particularly strong vintage racing appearance.
The Shelby Cobra is #152/250 in the 2022 Hot Wheels Mainline and 9/10 in Retro Racers. The blue version carries Mattel toy number HCV65.

The Shelby Cobra 427 S/C is one of those Hot Wheels castings where the real car's history gives the miniature much of its collector appeal.
The Cobra combined the lightweight British AC Ace platform with American Ford V8 power under the direction of Carroll Shelby, producing one of the most recognizable Anglo-American performance cars ever built. The Hot Wheels casting itself was designed by legendary Mattel designer Larry Wood.
