The Hot Wheels BMW 2002 casting is inspired by the legendary BMW 2002 Turbo, one of BMW's most recognizable early performance cars. This V5601 release is especially appealing because it comes from the first year of the Hot Wheels BMW 2002 casting and represents the second-color version of its 2012 debut.
An excellent addition for collectors of BMW, European performance cars, Hot Wheels New Models, first-year castings and 1:64 die-cast vehicles.
🏁 Collector's Notes
The BMW 2002 made its Hot Wheels debut in 2012, designed by renowned Hot Wheels designer Jun Imai.
Two versions were offered in the 2012 New Models series. The initial V5309 release was orange, followed by this V5601 Pearl White second-color variation.
Both were #21/247 overall and #21/50 in the New Models series, making this white V5601 an original first-year casting variation rather than a later reissue.
The BMW 2002 has since become a long-running Hot Wheels casting, adding extra collector appeal to these original 2012 debut-year examples.
For BMW enthusiasts, the casting is particularly notable because its widened wheel arches and front spoiler represent the aggressive styling of the legendary BMW 2002 Turbo era.
