Add the original Hot Wheels debut of the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 to your collection with this 2010 Hot Wheels R0942, Collector #025/240 and #25/44 from the 2010 New Models series.
Based on the legendary 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance/hearse conversion featured in the original 1984 Ghostbusters movie, this first-year Hot Wheels release captures the unmistakable Ecto-1 in its classic white finish with red side stripe, Ghostbusters “No Ghost” logos and roof-mounted paranormal equipment.
 
The model features a metal body, chrome plastic base, blue-tinted windows, black interior and roof equipment, and chrome 5-Spoke wheels. It was manufactured in Malaysia.
Brand new and unopened in original Hot Wheels packaging.
 
Collector's Notes
This is not simply another Ghostbusters Ecto-1 release. R0942 represents the 2010 debut casting, designed by Manson Cheung. Hot Wheels subsequently produced numerous Ecto-1 versions for premium Entertainment, convention, Halloween and collector-exclusive lines, but R0942 is where the standard Hot Wheels casting began.
There is also a packaging variation worth checking. The regular 2010 New Models release was also issued on a Target-exclusive Snowflake card. The vehicle remains R0942, but the Snowflake packaging is a collectible variation in its own right.
