The Max Steel made its Hot Wheels debut in 2022, making HCT29 the original first-year release of this casting.
Designed by Sonny Fisher, Max Steel takes inspiration from 1920s-style highboy hot rods but uses a distinctive Hot Wheels interpretation featuring a low-mounted, air-cooled flat-six-style engine and single-seat speedster body.
The debut HCT29 version features a Matte “Moody” Blue finish, gold racing number 54, Hot Wheels side logos and a gold stripe running over the hood and rear.
Max Steel continued to appear in later Hot Wheels collections, making this original 2022 Rod Squad 4/5 release the starting point for collectors building a complete Max Steel variation collection.
Collector Tip: Despite the name, this casting is unrelated to Mattel's Max Steel action-figure franchise.

2024 Hot Wheels McLaren Solus GT 70/250 HW Modified 6/10 HTB68 Blue
The McLaren Solus GT is a high-performance track day-only sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive. Designed by Rob Melville, the car's aesthetics are heavily based on the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo featured in the Gran Turismo series of games. The Solus GT is powered by a 5.2L Judd GV5 V10, making 829 horsepower. As a part of the McLaren Ultimate Series the Solus GT is expected to be produced in limited quantities, with 25 slated to be produced. 
 
Collector's Notes
The McLaren Solus GT is one of the more unusual modern McLaren vehicles represented by Hot Wheels.
The casting originally debuted as a 2023 Hot Wheels New Model, making this Metalflake Blue HTB68 the casting's second-year mainline appearance.
For 2024, Mattel moved the Solus GT into the HW Modified series as #6/10, with this blue HTB68 serving as the standard color release.
Two additional 2024 versions are documented: a ZAMAC Walmart Exclusive (HTF47) and an orange variation (HTD14). This gives collectors the opportunity to build a three-car 2024 Solus GT variation set.
The combination of McLaren licensing, exotic track-car styling and multiple documented color variations makes the Solus GT a strong modern casting for McLaren-focused Hot Wheels collections.
