Add one of Mercedes-Benz's most legendary sports cars to your collection with the 2023 Hot Wheels Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, finished in classic red and released as part of the Retro Racers series.
 
This officially licensed casting is inspired by the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing and features a competition-inspired appearance influenced by historic racing versions of the iconic German sports car.
 
The red body features black stripes on the front quarter panels, racing number “2” on the hood and sides, Mercedes-Benz badging, BILSTEIN graphics, Hot Wheels logos, and detailed front and rear trim. Chrome-red AeroDisc wheels, black interior, and clear windows complete the vintage racing appearance.
 
This release is #27 of 250 in the 2023 Hot Wheels Mainline and #3 of 10 in the Retro Racers series. Mattel product number HKH02.
 
A particularly interesting collector feature is that HKH02 is the standard mainline companion to the 2023 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Super Treasure Hunt HKL09. The Super uses Spectraflame Red paint and Real Riders, while this HKH02 is the regular red version with AeroDisc wheels.

Collector’s Notes
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL casting was designed by Manson Cheung and originally debuted in 2020 in the Car Culture Team Transport line.
 
For 2023, Hot Wheels brought the casting into the regular Mainline as part of Retro Racers.
Two closely related versions share the #27/250 and Retro Racers 3/10 designation:
 
HKH02 – Regular Mainline – Red
HKL09 – Super Treasure Hunt – Spectraflame Red
The regular HKH02 is therefore a good companion piece for collectors who own—or are trying to acquire—the Super Treasure Hunt.
 
The 300 SL itself is one of Mercedes-Benz's most recognizable historical sports cars and is commonly known as the Gullwing because of its distinctive upward-opening doors.
