Product Description
2021 Hot Wheels Muscle and Blown Red Rod Squad 5/5 184/250 GTB79 New Model
Add a modern Hot Wheels original hot rod to your collection with the 2021 Muscle and Blown, finished in Glossy Red and released as part of the Rod Squad series.

Designed by Dmitriy Shakhmatov, Muscle and Blown combines traditional American muscle-car proportions with extreme hot-rod and drift-inspired styling. Shakhmatov described the original concept as a front-mid-engine muscle car influenced by cars such as the Dodge Viper, then transformed into what he called a “drift hooligan” with exposed performance hardware, aggressive front and rear diffusers, side-exit exhaust, and a ducktail rear spoiler.

The Glossy Red body features white racing stripes, a white circle with #53, and DIMA Fabrication graphics. Smoke-tinted windows, dark-chrome interior, a black base, and mismatched AeroDisc and PR5 wheels give the casting an aggressive custom-racing appearance.

This release is #184 of 250 in the 2021 Hot Wheels Mainline and #5 of 5 in the Rod Squad series. Mattel product number GTB79.

Muscle and Blown was a New Model for 2021. GTB79 is the red second-color version from that debut year, following the original matte “Moody” Blue GRX50 variation.

The car is New in package: See pictures for quality and variations. The card may have some shelf wear on corner and edge.

Collector’s Notes
The Muscle and Blown casting debuted in 2021 and was designed by Dmitriy Shakhmatov. Its name is a play on the phrase “muscle and bone.”
There were two 2021 debut-year mainline colors:
GRX50 – Matte “Moody” Blue
GTB79 – Glossy Red
Both are #184/250 and Rod Squad 5/5, with GTB79 representing the second-color variation.
The casting continued after its debut. Of particular collector interest, the 2022 black Muscle and Blown became a regular Treasure Hunt, followed by additional special-series and 5-pack versions in later years.

That continuing casting history gives GTB79 some collector relevance, although it does not currently command a large premium.
