The Fig Rig is one of Hot Wheels' more unusual interactive fantasy castings, originally introduced in 2013 and designed by Dave Sheltman.
The vehicle was created with multiple building-block-style connection points incorporated into the body, allowing compatible figures and blocks to attach to the vehicle.
The 2021 GRY81 release is particularly interesting because the Fig Rig received substantially updated tooling that year. The engine became integrated into the body, the front bumper was incorporated into the base, and the rear spoiler/handle area was redesigned to better accommodate newer Mega Construx Hot Wheels figures.
GRY81 was released as #49/250 and #2/5 in the 2021 Track Stars series, finished in purple with black and orange track-inspired graphics.
