The Jeep DJ-Express FXB46 is an unusual Hot Wheels collectible because its history is closely connected to the original Hot Wheels id program.
Released in 2019 as #3/5 in the HW Metro series, this was the debut release of the Jeep DJ-Express casting. The model was designed by longtime Hot Wheels designer Phil Riehlman and features a highly customized interpretation of the classic Jeep DJ delivery vehicle.
This release is distinguished by its clearcoat ZAMAC body, special Hot Wheels id wheels, detailed lighting graphics and colorful “H.W. Mail” / “The Mailman” racing-inspired decoration.
Unlike Hot Wheels castings that return year after year in different mainline colors, collector references currently document the Jeep DJ-Express as a 2019-only casting, making its short production history one of the most interesting aspects of this particular model.
