Collector’s Notes
The Olds 442 has an unusually strong connection to Hot Wheels history. Larry Wood designed the original Olds 442 casting for the 1971 Hot Wheels lineup, based on the classic Oldsmobile 442. The casting was later retooled for modern production, making this 2012 version a modern interpretation of one of Hot Wheels’ early Redline-era designs.

The Hurst graphics and Gold Chrome 5SP wheels make V5449 particularly appealing compared with many standard mainline releases. Collector documentation also notes that this version was offered on a Team Hot Wheels Top Rides card in addition to the normal mainline packaging.
