The ’85 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z debuted as a Hot Wheels casting in 2012, designed by Brendon Vetuskey.
This V5602 Metalflake Black version was the second-color release of the casting and remained #22/247 overall and #22/50 in the 2012 New Models series.
An important variation exists for collectors: Mattel produced a Walmart-exclusive V5602 featuring a “Hot Wheels” banner across the front windshield.
The standard Metalflake Black V5602 does not have the windshield banner. Because both versions share the V5602 product number, collectors should inspect the windshield carefully when identifying the variation.
Its combination of first-year casting status, classic IROC-Z styling and documented Walmart variation gives this 2012 Camaro additional collector interest beyond an ordinary mainline.
