Hyper Mite is a depiction of a small motorcycle engine-powered city car with an appearance of an insect-like creature. It features two unusually large tall stinger-like exhaust pipes and an interior featuring a bicycle seat and handlebars.
🏁 Collector's Notes
The Hyper Mite made its Hot Wheels debut in 2001, making this release the original first-year version of the casting. It was designed by longtime Hot Wheels designer Mark Jones.
Collector #029 was released as #17 of 36 in the 2001 First Editions series and is documented with multiple checkerboard graphic variations.
This example features the Blue Checkered variation, distinguishing it from versions produced with pink, purple and other checkerboard shades.
For variation collectors, the color of the checkerboard graphics is an important identifying feature. Its First Edition status combined with the documented blue-checkered variation makes this an interesting affordable piece for collectors building a complete 2001 First Editions or Hyper Mite variation collection.
